This was the very first model of Crate Amps ever produced. Note: The wooden cabinet that in turn is a "Crate" thus naming these amps built by SLM of St. Louis, Mo. USA "Crate" Legend has it is that the owner of SLM Music was shopping in a Crate & Barrel store and noticed that there shelving all resembled Crates. He decided to start production of guitar amps and housing them in wooden boxes resembling wooden shipping Crates. This lasted for approximately 2 years before they opted for conventional Tolex cabinets.
This is a decent sounding solid state amp. The 12" Speaker really does sound good. 20 solid state watts into a 12" speaker. Features Gain, Treble, Bass, Master Volume, 2 inputs, Line out on rear. A very cool practice or recording amp.

All electrolytic capacitors and load resistors have been replaced as any 45 year old amp should under go. The original capacitors and load resistors are included. This maintenance will provide another 45 years of use with this samp. Amp is dead quite no hum, plays as new and is 45 years old.
